What We Do

We ask the questions and you guide us. Each person experiences their day differently and sometimes the same problems creep on on us. What is amazing about ADHD is that we have wonderful strengths we can use too. We can help provide a framework so that when problems arise, you have a plan (coping skills) to fall back on.

We offer regular coaching, one-time coaching or problem guidance, which can be with or without coping skills. We will ask you how you want your time to go. You should walk away from each session with some ideas to incorporate into your day to work through challenges.

ADHD Coping Skills

Why are coping skills important? The answer lies in neuroplasticity. Our brains can form and reorganize synaptic connections in response to experiences. Our goal with learning coping skills is to exercise our brains in ways that change the way our brains react to stimuli. We do this by explicitly practicing coping skills like checking in with ourselves to see how we are feeling and having methods we've already practiced for calming, redirecting, organizing, remembering things, self care during hyper focus and self perception, to name a few. With enough practice, these skills become more innate and can become helpful additions to your ADHD management plan

We ask the questions about what you need help with, and you guide us. We can provide a framework so you can practice on your own, or in other sessions with us.

Executive Function Guidance

Executive function guidance is not really separate from coping skills. Many coping skills we use have to do with one of the areas of executive function, which we define as: self control, emotional control, task initiation, working memory, self monitoring, flexibility, organization, planning and time management.

Depending on the age and experiences of our clients, executive management needs vary.

3

Body Doubling

Body doubling is one of our coping skills that we offer in real time. We typically provide this service for our teen and adult clients who have projects that they need to complete and for whom it helps to have someone present to get it done. During a body doubling session, we offer one-on-one help that you direct. We will start your session with questions to determine whether you need assistance organizing, planning and prioritizing work and if you want checkins and at what intervals. We will remain available on zoom during your session while you work.

4

Task Paralysis

This service centers around a task that you have resistance to working through. During a call of this nature, we help you walk through prioritizing and directly assist with the problem at hand. This is perfect for tasks that require organization or phone calls that you dread.
